In 2017, Jeremy was introduced to barrel-aged maple syrup. It wasn’t long until aging small batches in his garage was a habit, which turned into a hobby, which turned into a small start-up. He had just reached a decision point of whether or not to keep going, when a good friend asked if he could join Jeremy and that was the kick-start he needed to continue.
Favorite syrup recipe: Straight. Over crepes.
For Jeremy's good friend, Marcus, all it took was a field trip to Ohio and a shot of hot maple syrup fresh off the evaporator from the sugar shack for him to get hooked. He shared some of Jeremy’s barrel aged syrup with a bourbon connoisseur friend at work who came back to him and said “I want a gallon of that stuff!” He knew then and there he wanted to help Jeremy get this product out into the world. He moonlights as a Physician’s Assistant, has 3 kids that keep him on his toes, and a wife that keeps him sane.

The name “Stump Bros” was born out of a nickname for Jeremy’s two oldest sons, who went missing one evening. He ended up finding them in the garage, sitting on some wood stumps he had, singing at the top of their lungs. He started calling them the “Stump Bros”, and when he needed aname for this start-up, it was an easy fit.
